Message of H.E. Mr. MIKAMI Masahiro, Ambassador of Japan to the Kingdom of Cambodia, on the provision of Vaccines
On 13 July 2021, Embassy of Japan in the Kingdom of Cambodia issued a message of H.E. Mr. MIKAMI Masahiro, Ambassador of Japan to the Kingdom of Cambodia, on the provision of vaccines.
The Japanese Government has announced it will provide approximately one million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine to the Kingdom of Cambodia. This was decided in light of the friendship between Japan and Cambodia and based on the current status of COVID-19 in Cambodia. The vaccines, which Japan is licensed to produce, will be shipped to Phnom Penh as soon as the logistics arrangement by the COVAX facility is completed. I hope that this donation will support the Royal Government of Cambodia’s efforts to defeat COVID-19 as well as help to relieve some of the anxieties of the Cambodian people.
